Consultation opens on UK packaging waste legislation reform

Producer responsibility legislation has increased UK packaging recycling rates from 25% 20 years ago to 64.7% in 2016. However, there is scope, through legislative reform, to further increase recycling rates and improve the transparency of the system, including how income from the sale of evidence has supported packaging waste recycling.
Comments on the proposals can be submitted via an online survey, which closes on 13 May 2019.
