No further extensions are expected to the compliance date and the EPA has included in the rule requirements for extension requests to be supported by documentation evidencing their use of PIP (3:1) and the actions they have taken to remove it. Companies should therefore survey their supply chains to identify the use of PIP (3:1) and support efforts to substitute its use with safer chemicals.

Comments on the proposed rule can be made in docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2021-0598 on www.regulations.gov for 60 days from publication of the proposed rule..
