EU Council approves proposal to submit Chloropyrifos as Persistent Organic Pollutant

Although chlorpyrifos has been phased out in the EU, it is still used as a pesticide elsewhere. Due to the potential for long-range environmental transport of chlorpyrifos, international measures are needed to safeguard the protection of the environment and human health.
