France reduces private copy fees for reconditioned phones and tablets

The new fees represent on average 2% of the selling price of a reconditioned smartphone. The reduction aims to achieve a balance between developing the refurbishment sector and supporting cultural activities financed by the private copy levy.
Copie France will apply the new rates from 1 July 2021.
